The slanted styles in DejaVu Mono are obliques. They are called Oblique and Bold Oblique, the letters keep their upright construction and lean over, and in a terminal that is a mercy, because the columns and the letter shapes stay exactly as you know them.

DejaVu took the Bitstream Vera fonts and set out to give them far more characters while keeping their appearance, and the Mono is that project applied to a coding face. Its full name is DejaVu Sans Mono, which is what most people will find in their font menus.

Coverage is where it earns its place. Latin, Greek with polytonic, Cyrillic, Armenian and Georgian are complete, and this monospace also carries Arabic and Lao, plus math symbols, arrows and braille patterns, 3,322 characters in all. A config file with a Georgian string or a log line in Armenian will render in the same font as the code around it.

Book, Bold, Oblique and Bold Oblique. Version 2.37, from July 2016, is still the current one.
