A Note On The Page
Delius · Regular
A short letter, set in the family.
Thursday afternoon
Dear Alex,
I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.
See you there.

Natalia Raices drew Delius with a round marker in mind. Each stroke fattens a little where it starts and again where it stops, as a marker does when the tip lands and when it lifts, and the letters follow the movements a hand makes in writing, which is what comic book lettering wants. Her copyright on it goes back to 2010.
Raices is an Argentine designer, and Delius was among the typefaces selected for Tipos Latinos 2012, the biennial of Latin American type design.
Google Fonts took the Regular in July 2011. Delius Swash Caps came that August with decorative capitals for titles and logos, then in October Delius Unicase, which puts capital and lowercase forms on 1 height the way comic strips get lettered by hand. Unicase is the only member with a Bold, so if a speech balloon has to shout you would go there. This page is the plain Regular, basic Latin only.
(The first version was built in FontForge. The current repository converts those sources and rebuilds the font with a newer compiler, fontc.)
