Every Doto letter lives on a grid 6 dots wide and 10 high, a matrix of the sort old departure boards and LED tickers used. Óliver Lalan kept it monospaced and geometric, made it for display work, and built the variable source with 2 unusual axes, 1 for the size of the dots and 1 for how round they are.

What lands here are 9 static weights, Thin to Black. Because every character takes the same slot, a line of lowercase runs 32.6% wider than it would in Arial, so give it room. There are no OpenType features to speak of, which suits a font this literal. It went onto Google Fonts in September 2024.

Set it large and keep it short, a headline or a sign. Reading text is not its business.
