Far from the harbor lights
The tongue is the giveaway. Bartłomiej Rózga drew Exile with The Rolling Stones in mind, their music and their famous logo, and the soft, swashy curls in the letters are his nod to it. Against those he set heavy slab serifs with sharp corners, and the push and pull between the 2 is most of what makes the face recognizable.
It is a stencil, too. Rózga had set himself the challenge of drawing custom fonts for bands as a side project, and he picked the stencil form for its practicality. Capitals only; a band name shouted across a poster does not need a lowercase.
The name comes from Exile on Main St., 1 of his favorite Stones records.
There is 1 style and 378 characters, with ligatures and a stylistic set for alternate shapes. The letters run very wide, so a 5 letter word can cover a whole poster, and that is about the right use for it. Gig flyers and a merch shirt, say. Body text would be unkind to everyone involved. It came out in March 2025.
