A Note On The Page
Fleur De Leah · Regular
A short letter, set in the family.
Thursday afternoon
Dear Alex,
I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.
See you there.

Roses for the bridesmaids
“Never use it in all caps.” Rob Leuschke’s own instructions for Fleur De Leah are short and firm: keep it to captions and short phrases, and leave capitals-only setting alone.
This is a formal script with a floral streak, and the embellishments are drawn into the letterforms themselves; Leuschke counts it among the first fonts to do that. Our guess is that a row of those ornate capitals side by side would turn into a thicket. Paired with the lowercase, which comes up to only about half their height, they have room to show.
The design goes back to 2008, from Leuschke’s long run of lettering for greeting cards and packaging at TypeSETit, and it reached Google Fonts in 2021. There is 1 Regular style with Western and Central European Latin and Vietnamese.
