Everyday Khmer handwriting, in a style that is widely used, is what Danh Hong based Freehand on, and he meant it for body text, though Google files it under display. It arrived on Google Fonts in March 2011, the same day as his Metal.
The Latin letters are narrow, with tall capitals over a small lowercase. Treat them as support for the Khmer.
1 Regular, kerning. We would use it for Khmer greeting cards, notices and posters where a handwritten tone suits the message.
