Fusion Pixel 12px Proportional JP

Japanese game text is full of Latin. HP and MP, a player name typed in romaji, an item code. Set that in the monospaced build of Fusion Pixel and the Latin rides slightly high next to the kana, a cost TakWolf accepted to keep every glyph inside a fixed cell. This proportional build drops the cell. Letters take the width their shape asks for, kerning tidies the pairs, and the baseline is placed for ordinary typesetting, so a line like 「HPが12回復した」 sits level from end to end.

The kanji follow Japanese forms, taken from the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ tables, where the SC, TC and KR files of the same family would show other shapes for the same code points.

It is a big file for a pixel font. 36,999 characters, and the list of scripts runs past the obvious ones: Greek and Cyrillic, Hangul and Bopomofo, squared and circled Latin signs, and the regional indicator letters that some systems combine into flag pairs.

If the game has a lot of dialogue, this is the Fusion file we would start with for a Japanese release, and keep the monospaced one for menus that need columns.
