Type 0123456789 in Linefont and no digits appear. You get a line climbing from the bottom of the box to the top, because every character here stands for a value. Dmitry Ivanov mapped the digits to steps of 10, so 5 means 50. The letters a to z and A to Z go in steps of 2, eased off at the a and the Z ends, and the Latin Extended-A block from U+0100 to U+017F covers 0 to 127 in steps of 1 for finer work. String the characters together and the font joins them into a small line chart.
That turns a sparkline in a table cell into a piece of text. It grows with the font size, takes the text color and survives copy and paste.
Heavier weights draw a thicker line. Ivanov kept the axis ranges in step with his Wavefont family, so the 2 can share a dashboard and still look like they belong together. Google added Linefont in September 2023.
