The Traditional Chinese at this size has traveled. Fusion Pixel takes it from BoutiqueBitmap7x7, and BoutiqueBitmap7x7 is itself a rework of Misaki, a Japanese 8 dot font: its makers corrected the punctuation, replaced Japanese-style writing habits with Chinese ones and added a large number of characters so it would behave in a Traditional Chinese setting. They also cover the Hong Kong supplementary character sets, which is unusual in a font this small.
In the monospaced build every glyph is pinned to half or full width. TakWolf is plain about the cost, and it is heaviest at 8 px: less room to draw, fewer characters supported, some complex characters hard to read, and a baseline sitting slightly high.
So keep it to short things, a hit point counter or a label floating over a sprite. 28,409 characters, 1 Regular, and no Greek or Cyrillic in the 8 px set.
