In Brazil a gabarito is the answer sheet, the key you check your exam against, and the font was made for students preparing for the vestibular, the university entry exams. An online learning platform commissioned it in 2017. Leandro Assis and Álvaro Franca began the drawing, Franca and Felipe Casaprima developed it further in 2020, and in 2023 it was given a light makeover, with help from Henrique Beier of Harbor Type, so it could be released to everyone.
What sets it apart from a dozen other friendly geometric sans faces is the homework kit. Past the usual Latin set there are symbols for logic and set theory, a long run of math operators, scientific superiors and inferiors, and roman numerals, which is most of what a high school student needs to type out a physics problem or a proof without hunting for a second font.
6 weights, Regular to Black. The voice is light-hearted, so a quiz app or a worksheet header is a better fit than a bank statement, and the heavier end makes a decent headline.
