Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy argued for Telugu as a language everyone should use, beyond the circle of scholars, and this font carries his name. It is a Telugu face for headlines, invitations and posters, best at large sizes.
Purushoth Kumar Guttula designed and developed the Telugu, and Silicon Andhra made it available. Eduardo Tunni, a type designer in Buenos Aires, drew a new Latin for it, and Appaji Ambarisha Darbha in Hyderabad led the project.
1 Regular style, narrow and compact. Set a wedding card or a festival poster in it; for a page of reading, look elsewhere.
