Vernon Adams had a line from the designer Jasper Morrison in mind for this one, the idea that the special thing tends to be less useful than the normal thing. Gruppo was meant for branding in that spirit, relaxed, stylish without trying very hard, where less on the page is more.
The letters are small for their body, so set it larger than you would set an ordinary sans to get the same visual size, and give it space. In a logo or across the top of a website it does its quiet thing well. A May 2023 update enlarged the glyph set and made some small changes to the shapes. 1 style.
