Jost has been through a lot of versions, 3.7 by the last count, and Owen Earl, who runs the foundry indestructible type*, still maintains it. The starting point was the German sans-serifs of the 1920s. In 2020 Earl and Mirko Velimirovic reworked it as a variable font; what you download here are the static cuts.
18 of them, Thin at 100 to Black at 900, with an italic for each weight.
The feature list is short, kerning, tabular figures and 1 stylistic set, so do not go looking for small caps or old style numbers. Cyrillic sits beside the Latin.
We like the light weights at large sizes, where the 1920s roots show most, and the Regular and Medium hold up fine as website body text. Its small letters are on the short side for a sans, so set text a size up from what you would use with a big-eyed face.
