Live tonight in the basement

Niki Polyocan drew Lacquer by hand with a paint pen, drips and all, and Eli Block at Google Creative Lab took those drawings, extrapolated the rest of the character set and finished the font. It went onto Google Fonts on July 4, 2019.

The drips are heavy, and they would look fake if every e dripped the same way. That is what the dozens of alternates are for. 5 stylistic sets plus stylistic alternates let you vary a repeated letter until a word looks painted.

Basic Latin, 1 Regular. Band posters, zine covers and stickers, a line or 2 at a time.
