An equation set next to Libertinus Serif text needs operators and Greek letters that match it, and this is the font that supplies them. Libertinus Math holds 3,652 characters, the math set sitting alongside Latin, Greek, Cyrillic and Hebrew.
The Libertinus project forked Linux Libertine and Linux Biolinum to give them cleaner details and make them work with current typesetting systems, and scholarly publishing is where the family lives. It is built in FontForge and kept up by a community that keeps adjusting the spacing, kerning and hinting. Philipp H. Poll is the credited designer, and the Math font joined Google Fonts in April 2025.
1 Regular weight. If you write papers in a typesetting system that reads math fonts, pair it with Libertinus Serif for the body and the formulas will look as if they belong to the paragraph around them.
