Type a string of digits and the bars come out, with the same digits printed in small figures underneath, the way they sit on a cereal box. That printed row is what the “Text” in the name refers to; the Libre Barcode project also makes versions with the bars alone.
The family covers Code 39, Code 128 and the EAN-13/UPC formats. Lasse Fister, a font and web developer in Nuremberg, leads the project, and this cut joined Google Fonts in October 2020. There is 1 style, with contextual alternates and kerning.
On a packaging mockup it saves drawing bars by hand, and that is where we would put it to work.
