Riverside Rowing Club, est. 1931
Georg Trump’s City is the name Denis Masharov gives as his influence, among the geometric slab serifs of the 1930s with their square slabs, and Kelly Slab carries that squared-off idea into a modern font with Cyrillic next to the Latin.
The design is rectangular through and through, which gives a line of it a rhythm you notice. Masharov aimed it at advertising, headings, big labels and logotypes, and thought it could manage text blocks at larger point sizes. We’d agree with the first part. A paragraph of it at 10 point would tire anyone, while a rowing club logo or a Cyrillic shop sign suits it fine.
