13, 16 and 19 points. Those are the sizes Liter was tuned for, which tells you where its makers expected it to live: interface text, menus, the navigation bar of an app. Anton Skugarov drew it with Alexandr Ivanin, after the Swiss school of neo-grotesques, and it joined Google Fonts in January 2025.
Capitals and lowercase are close in height, the small letters reaching 74% of the capital, and the contrast between thick and thin strokes is kept low. Both help at 13 points on a phone.
Cyrillic sits beside the Latin in 454 characters, with localized forms, case sensitive forms for all-caps settings and 1 stylistic set.
Is 1 weight enough for an interface? For labels and body copy it can be. A heading hierarchy will have to come from size and color, or from a second family.
