A Note On The Page

Long Cang · Regular

A short letter, set in the family.

Thursday afternoon

Dear Alex,

I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.

See you there.

Green tea, second steeping

Chen Xiaomin, a modern calligrapher, wrote the hand that Long Cang is built on. The strokes are of middling thickness and keep their texture, rough at the edges and still controlled.

It covers Simplified Chinese with 7,015 characters and a basic Latin, in 1 Regular. We would use it on a tea shop menu or the cover of a book of short essays, somewhere a personal hand is the point.
