Niramit keeps the loops. Its Thai is built on a modern structure, but the traditional looped letterforms are still there, and Cadson Demak added decorative details on top of both scripts.
The family runs from Extra Light at 200 to Bold at 700, 6 weights with an italic for each, 12 styles in all. Vietnamese is covered too. Over a whole sentence the italic takes up the same width as the upright, and you can switch a word to italic without the paragraph reflowing.
Where would it go? A café menu in Thai and English, or the text of a lifestyle app. It would look too playful on a tax form.
