The official description says nobody knows where Nosifer comes from and that it drips from the internet with a dark stench. It does drip. That is the whole idea, a horror face whose letters bleed downward.
Behind the joke is Vernon Adams, who released it under his Typomondo name in December 2011, on the same day as 2 more of his horror faces, Eater and Butcherman. A caps-only cousin, Nosifer Caps, had come out a couple of months earlier.
It is enormously wide, far wider than an ordinary sans, so plan the space around it. Set 1 word big, in red on black if you must, and don’t ask it to do anything else.
