Lavender soap for Sunday best
What do you get if you cross Bodoni with Pixie? Brian Bonislawsky’s answer, drawn for Astigmatic in 2012, is Purple Purse, and he found the idea in an Ivory Soap advertisement from the 1950s. The letters bounce up and down the line and the whole face refuses to be serious, which is half its appeal on a soap wrapper or a vintage-style invitation.
1 Regular style, 365 characters with the extended Latin accents, plus fractions and ordinals. Let it play in a headline; a paragraph of bouncing letters gets tiring.
