Clerks in India kept their books in Siyaq for about 3 centuries, from the 17th into the 20th, using a set of Arabic-script numerals made for accounting and nothing else. Noto Sans Indic Siyaq Numbers puts those signs into Unicode-ready type, 95 glyphs of them, for anyone transcribing an old ledger or writing about one.
Despite the Sans in the name the Siyaq signs have a modulated stroke. The Monotype Design Team drew it for Google’s Noto project, and a Latin set is included so notes and captions can sit in the same font.
