Goulash simmering since noon
The lowercase in Paprika is huge, reaching 3/4 of cap height, and to our eye the strokes have a lively, drawn quality that keeps the letters from looking stiff. Eduardo Rodríguez Tunni meant it as a display face that could still carry long text, and with a lowercase that big the claim holds up better than it does for most expressive fonts.
Tunni’s influence reaches past his own fonts, too: design methods he developed were built into major type design software. Paprika went up on Google in October 2012, the same day as his condensed Strait, and the 2 make an odd, likeable pair. 1 Regular style, with extended Latin.
