Inga Plönnigs, an independent designer in Berlin who came through the Type and Media course at the KABK, drew Plein as a humanist sans with clear, open forms and nearly monolinear strokes. Indian Type Foundry publishes it.
Figures default to old style, so a year in a sentence sits at lowercase height, and lining figures are 1 switch away for tables. Case-sensitive punctuation looks after all-caps lines.
On Fontshare the family has 5 weights from Light to Black, each with an italic whose f drops below the baseline. This page has the Regular. ITF lists branding, editorial text of medium length, signage and navigation as its uses; we would add annual reports, where numbers turn up mid-sentence.
