Notes on the third lecture
Average, the serif, reached Google’s library in March 2012, and in October Eduardo Tunni followed it with a sans sister that keeps the serif’s color and proportions, so the 2 can share a page without fighting.
The forms are neutral on purpose and make an even texture in running text, and they hold up in a short headline as well. Tunni, who co-founded the Argentine foundry Tipo with Dario Muhafara to get Latin American text typefaces onto the international market, pitches it at online magazines and academic writing.
There is only a Regular, which limits it. Use it for body copy under headings set in Average, or as a quiet second voice beside the serif in captions and notes.
