The One in the name was a promise. Eduardo Tunni, who works in Argentina, put out this book weight in 2013 as the first of a narrow grotesque family, a squeezed sans of the kind printers have used for a very long time. The wider Pathway Extreme family later grew out of it. A March 2023 update widened the glyph set and added fractions.

How narrow is it? A sentence in Pathway Gothic One needs about 30% less room than Arial would take. That makes space for long headlines in slim columns and for sign text on a small panel. With a single weight, though, any contrast in the layout has to come from another family.
