TipTopTyp tells Ranga’s story through Allan, a sign painter in Berlin back when the city was split in 2, painting gray panels in the subway with poor materials. Things have changed since. His range has grown, and now Devanagari is part of it as much as Latin.
So the font is a painted brush letter, leaning slightly forward. The 2 weights split the work: the Bold for when a sign needs to hit hard, the Regular for quieter subjects. Both run narrow, which suits a shop fascia where the name is long and the board is not.
488 characters cover Devanagari next to extended Latin. It came to Google Fonts in 2015.
