The fade in Rubik 80s Fade was computed. NaN and Luke Prowse wrote code that runs over the outlines of Rubik (Hubert and Fischer’s sans, with Meir Sadan’s Hebrew and Cyreal’s Cyrillic) and the effect comes out the other end; the script is public on GitHub as Glyph-Filters, and this is 1 of the Rubik “Filtered” fonts it produced.
Starting from Rubik meant the coverage came along for free. Latin, Cyrillic and Hebrew, 691 characters, with tabular figures and a slashed zero still in place. 1 style. Use it big, on a retro club poster or an album cover where the effect has room to show.
