A poster gallery in Galle, Sri Lanka, called itself Stick No Bills, and the studio Mooniak drew a stencil typeface for its brand. That was the Latin. Later the gallery and Mooniak decided to open the project up, and Mooniak designed a Sinhala to match.
Because the Sinhala was built to sit with the Latin, a bilingual poster keeps 1 voice. There are 7 weights, Extra Light to Extra Bold, so a headline and its smaller lines can come from the same family.
Kosala Senevirathne, Siva Puranthara, Lasantha Premarathna and Tharique Azeez are the designers credited at Mooniak. For an exhibition poster, set it big.
