Thin to Black on a single weight axis is what Comme gained when Vernon Adams’ fork of the Oxygen family became a variable font, along with better language support. It reached Google Fonts in 2023, with a copyright dating back to 2014.

Here you get that range as 9 static weights, 100 to 900, upright only, with 498 characters and the extended Latin accents. The OpenType list is modest, fractions, ordinals and discretionary ligatures among it.

It is a plain, even sans, the sort you can put on a settings screen and in a page heading without either looking out of place. If you want a single family to cover a whole site from fine print to banner, Comme’s 9 steps make that easy.
