Taprom has 2 halves that came from different places. The Khmer letters follow a popular style of Khmer handwriting, and Danh Hong drew them with body text in mind. The Latin came over whole from Seaweed Script, Neapolitan’s script, which is why Google Fonts puts both names on the credit.
Google Fonts added it in 2011, and the file here is version 8.002, from the project Danh Hong keeps on GitHub.
So the pair is an odd one. On the Latin side the small letters reach a little under half of the capital height, a script that wants to be read in short bursts. We would keep Taprom for the Khmer, a menu or a shop sign where the English is a line or 2 underneath, and give any long English paragraph to another face.
