Johan Kallas started from his own handwriting and then improved on it, pushing the shapes further and redrawing the strokes until the result was nicer than the way he writes. The font that came out is curvy and full of ligatures, which switch on through OpenType.
Vibur has been on Google Fonts since December 2010, a long time in web font years, in 1 style. Its notes pair it with bright, playful designs and we agree; a party invitation or a kids’ menu suits it far better than an annual report.
