Tall signs over a narrow street
Every lower right corner of a radical in ZCOOL QingKe HuangYou is notched off at 45 degrees. Zheng Qingke did that to lift the visual center of each character, and by his account it clears up the reading trouble that crossing strokes can cause. The other right angles are rounded to a 4 point radius, so the face turns softly where you would expect hard corners.
He designed and produced it himself, then donated it to the ZCOOL font project for public use. Google added it in December 2018.
Nearly all of the 9,429 characters are simplified Chinese. A narrow Latin set comes along.
1 Regular. Poster and packaging headlines suit it; we would not run paragraphs in it.
