Aclonica was among Astigmatic’s first fonts on Google Fonts, added in April 2011 on the same day as Syncopate. Brian J. Bonislawsky drew a strong, modern sans with a faint deco and techno flavor, clean letters and a generous x-height that makes it friendlier than the style might suggest.
He pitched it for body copy as well as titles. We’d lean toward titles: it runs wide, and in a long paragraph that width adds up quickly. A logo, a game title or a headline on a tech product suit it well.
