Set the numbers first. Actor’s figures are old style, rising and dropping around the lowercase, and Thomas Junold gave several of them unusual shapes: the 6 and the 9 are tenser and livelier than usual, the 8 has its 2 counters clearly shifted off center, and the 7 bends a little to the left.

The face started as a diploma thesis at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences, under Karl-Friedrich (Kai) Oetzbach, in a course meant to teach students about writing as a carrier of information by having them make a typeface. Junold drew it entirely on the computer and calls the route to this version rocky and winding.

The x-height is big, and Junold’s advice is to give it generous line spacing. 1 Regular style, basic Latin.
