Signs read at a distance and at a glance were Matt McInerney’s target for Allerta. His method was to push each letter toward whatever makes it most itself, so no character is easily mistaken for another. 1 Regular style, basic Latin only, first published in 2009 and on Google Fonts since November 2010. For English wayfinding it still makes sense to us; for anything multilingual the character set stops short.
