Alpino’s G has a spur and no crossbar, its g is double-story with a showy ear, the y ends in a curved tail, and the cedilla floats free of its letter. Those are the marks of this humanist sans by Alisa Nowak and Jérémie Hornus for Indian Type Foundry.

It was tuned for magazines and editorial work. The x-height is small, the capitals wide and the ascenders and descenders long, which gives a page of it an airy, bookish texture to our eye. Stroke corners are slightly rounded, and the numerals are proportional old style.

Fontshare carries 7 styles; this page has the Regular. Magazine features and short headlines in mixed case would make the most of those wide capitals.
