2 weeks after the first release of Anaheim in August 2012, Vernon Adams put out a fix: some mark-positioning code in the font was breaking the letter spacing in Firefox, so he stripped it out, and while he was there he adjusted the lowercase g and the capital W. Small housekeeping, but it says something about how hands-on web fonts were then. Adams kept his sources in 3 formats, UFO, FontForge and OpenType.
He designed it to be used freely by browsers on any screen, and it shipped as a single Regular. The family grew much later. A version 2.000 in September 2016, with Marc Foley of Google Fonts as engineer, began the work, and Kalapi Gajjar-Bordawekar, Jacques Le Bailly and Emma Marichal are listed as later contributors. Today there are 5 weights, Regular to Extra Bold, and Vietnamese has joined the Latin.
Adams, badly hurt in a road accident in 2014, died in 2016.
A slightly narrow sans with old style figures and a slashed zero available, good for headings and side columns on a website.
