There is a slant hidden in Antic’s round letters. Santiago Orozco gave them an 8 degree stress, close to the angle of his own handwriting, so the thick and thin parts of an o sit a little off vertical the way a pen would leave them.
He came at it from calligraphy and meant it for running text. Antic was the first of 2 large text family projects he started, the sans side of a pair whose serif half is called Clark, and the calligraphic touch was supposed to carry across from one to the other.
You notice it more in a paragraph than in a single word. Set at 16 to 18 px on a web page it reads warmer than most plain sans faces, though with 1 weight and 214 Latin glyphs it cannot do much more than that, no bold for emphasis, no italic.
Orozco worked under the Typemade name, and Google Fonts added the font in August 2011.
