Notes From The Reading Room
The reading room opens onto a quiet courtyard. Along the shelves, small handwritten labels mark the collections. A visitor leaves a book open beside the window, keeping a place for the next reader.
A heading marks the next chapter. The margins leave room for a note while the text continues across the page.

Spikes and facets on the slabs are the giveaway, a treatment Karolina Lach took from American wood type. Under them Arbutus is a sturdy slab serif with medium contrast and wide spacing between the letters. That spacing is why Sorkin Type, which published it in 2011, says it holds up at fairly small sizes; we would go along with it down to a subhead or a pull quote, not much further. 1 Regular style, a Latin set with the extended accents, and no OpenType extras.
