Who needs a Khanda in a display font? Anyone making a Gurpurab poster in Punjabi. Baloo Paaji 2 has one, ☬, cut in the same thick rounded stroke as the letters, and it has the Ik Onkar ੴ as well, so neither has to be pasted in from a different font with a different weight.
Shuchita Grover drew the Gurmukhi.
Most of what Gurmukhi needs sits on top of the headline. The tippi ੰ and the addak ੱ are here, and there are ready-made glyphs for the addak and bindi combined with the vowel signs above the bar, so they do not pile up on each other. Under the line there are the small subjoined letters of spellings like ਪ੍ਰ, and even the rare udaat and yakash marks.
- Our pick for weights: Extra Bold for a dhaba’s name board, Regular or Medium for the menu under it.
Fractions and tabular figures are in the Latin.
