Berlin Sans FB turns up in plenty of old Office files, and on a machine without it the stand-in font moves every line break and page break. Belanosima is the repair for that. The DocRepair Project, which Google Fonts first funded to make metric-compatible fallbacks for fonts common in Office documents, matched its spacing to Berlin Sans FB so a document keeps its layout under the ISO/IEC 29500 standard for Office Open XML.
The letters themselves come from Josefin Sans, Santiago Orozco’s geometric family with its vintage, 1920s inspired feel, meant for larger sizes. That makes Belanosima an odd hybrid: Orozco’s shapes on Berlin Sans metrics.
3 weights, Regular, Semi Bold and Bold. Sister DocRepair fonts include Agdasima, Caprasimo, Lunasima and Lumanosimo, each a fallback for a different Office font.
