A pixel font with small caps, a slashed zero, old style and tabular figures and 7 stylistic sets is an odd thing to find, and Bitcount Prop Single Ink has all of them packed into 396 characters. Petr van Blokland of TYPETR treated it as a working typeface for setting text, if very coarse text.

In his manual for the Bitcount family the suggested uses go well past the screen. Running LED signs in hardware with little room, low resolution displays and printers, and then physical type: letters laid out in LEGO bricks, in flower pots, in lit windows across the face of a building. A grid that small can be built out of nearly anything.

The Prop part of the name means proportional, so each letter takes its own width in whole pixels. Single means stems 1 pixel wide.

A practical detail we liked. Every pixel is 100 units on a 1000 unit em, which makes it 1/10 of the font size, and in InDesign a tracking of 10 opens the spacing by exactly 1 pixel. You can space it by the dot, which is how a pixel face ought to behave.

Weights go from Thin to Black, 9 of them, and since letters share their spacing you can stack 2 weights in different colors on top of each other.
