A sharp sign in a concert program, a quarter note in the middle of a lesson handout: Bravura Text is there so those can sit in a line of ordinary type without wrecking the spacing.
Daniel Spreadbury designed Bravura at Steinberg for the Dorico notation software, and it is the reference font of SMuFL, the Standard Music Font Layout, a scheme that gives thousands of music symbols fixed places in Unicode’s Private Use Area. Bravura itself is for scoring programs and has very tall metrics so no glyph gets clipped. Bravura Text is its partner for text applications. Spreadbury says its metrics were designed to agree with regular text fonts, and most of its glyphs are scaled down to suit.
You will not find letters here, only the symbols, at SMuFL positions and in Unicode’s own music block, over 19,000 glyphs in version 1.482. In practice that means picking them from a character map and setting the words around them in another font.
Pick that other font with some weight to it. Bravura’s noteheads are large and its strokes dark for a music font, and a thin text face next to them looks underfed.
