Every lowercase letter in Changa is drawn inside a square. Eduardo Tunni kept the ascenders and descenders short, and the capitals rise only a little above the lowercase, so lines can be set close together without letters colliding. That squared, compact look is the whole personality.

He intended it for text. Changa One, the original style, is its extra bold sister for display. In November 2019 the family gained a variable weight axis, and alongside the Latin there is an Arabic set.

So what does it do best? Tight headline stacks, sports and event graphics, any layout where you want 3 lines of type in the space of 2. There are 7 weights, Extra Light to Extra Bold. For long reading the squareness gets monotonous, at least to us, but a short intro paragraph in the Regular is fine.

Google Fonts first listed it in October 2012.
