Where Clash Display chases contrast, Clash Grotesk keeps its strokes optically even and settles down for reading. Shiva Nallaperumal’s design shares the family trait, apertures pinched so small that a c looks almost shut, but the tall x-height and large counters are tuned for running text, magazine pages above all.
Figures and ascenders both reach cap height, the figures proportional and lining. The a has 2 stories, the g only 1.
The family covers 6 weights, ExtraLight to Bold, and this file is the Regular. Fontshare calls it tame enough for a corporate identity and lively enough for editorial work; we would start with a magazine feature and set its display companion on the headline.
