The letters lean forward a little and bounce on the baseline, and that slight slant was the point. Riccardo De Franceschi based Contrail on hand-made sans lettering from British posters, the kind that feels like the jet age has arrived and everyone is waiting at the gate for it.
Corners are rounded, contrast is low. Sorkin Type released it in 2011 as a font made for the web from the start, meant for medium and large sizes, and with only 229 characters in plain Latin it stays a headline face. Put it on a travel poster or a banner and leave the paragraphs to something quieter.
