A clock drawn in this font can blink its colon by swapping a single character. Keshikan made the colon and the space exactly the same width, so the digits on either side stay put whichever is showing.
Small tricks in the spacing
The period goes further and has no width at all. Type 3.14 and the point drops in between the 3 and the 1 without pushing anything along, the way a calculator lights a decimal point in the gap between 2 digits. The ! key gives a cell with every segment off, the tilde one with every segment lit.
Classic is the more traditional of the 2 DSEG14 cuts. Each segment ends in a symmetric point, and the diagonal strokes inside K, M, W and X stop before the center and leave a small gap there.
The cells are wide. A line of text in it takes about 55% more room than the same words in Arial, which is fine on a dashboard and tight in a narrow column.
Light, Regular and Bold, with italics. The release is v0.46, from March 2020.
