Thursday afternoon

Dear Alex,

I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.

See you there.

3 parts of Australia, 1 hand. The font was built to support the handwriting taught in Victoria, Western Australia and the Northern Territory, hence the string of letters in its name.

Tina Anderson designed it, Eben Sorkin helped and got it ready for publication, and Corey Anderson and Mirko Velimirović share the design credit. Version 1.00 appeared on 26 May 2021. Google for Education publishes it as part of the Foundation Fonts for Australian Schools, a set that follows each state’s early primary stages from foundation print through transitional joins to cursive, and a sibling, Edu VIC WA NT Beginner, covers the beginner stage of the same style.

4 weights, Regular to Bold, with contextual alternates and 6 stylistic sets among the OpenType features and extended Latin in 400 characters. The capitals stand tall over the small letters, which helps a child see the difference while copying.
